and get through difficult times, for nearly 40 years.
Our services are there whether you just want to talk things over,
want more structured professional help, or would like to learn new skills
to enhance your life balance.
Counselling
The counselling we provide can help clarify your thoughts and
feelings so that you can make choices about your life. Its aim
is to provide an opportunity to explore your values, weaknesses
and strengths and so enable you to find your own solutions.

Courses and workshops
Our courses and workshops are designed to help you develop confidence
in life skills you wish to improve. We’re always updating the range
available, so pop back to the website from time to time to check out our
latest additions.
The workshops take place at weekends, either on a Saturday or
on both Saturday and Sunday. Each course day runs from 10.00am
to 5.00pm.
Current courses and workshops include:

Building confidence and communication skills
This ten week evening course aims to provide a safe group environment in which participants can explore their feelings effectively, and present themselves positively, to create more harmonious relationships.

Stress, anxiety and you
A one day Saturday workshop, to help you develop coping skills if the quality of your life is affected by anxiety, stress or panic attacks. This workshop is designed to:
- understand the physical and behavioural reactions to pressure and stress in our lives
- help identify the main causes
- explore better ways to respond and deal with stressful situations and panic attacks
- develop techniques for managing your stress levels
- look at developing a life plan which supports a more stress-free lifestyle.

Life patterns and choices (two Day, Sat./Sunday Workshop)
If you long to take some time out to reflect on the direction your life is taking, this workshop is for you. It’s designed to help you work out why you might be feeling dissatisfied or stuck, help you cope with life turning points, or reflect on your life so far and look to future goals. During the workshop we'll:
- look back at the experiences that have shaped your life
- identify the people, events and decisions that have led you to where you are
- explore whether you now want to make some new choices
- take the opportunity to identify what your next step(s) might be
- anticipate how you might deal with the consequences that are part of the change
- celebrate and enjoy the energy that change can bring.

Being assertive (two day, Sat./Sun. Workshop)
Assertiveness is often confused with aggression, selfishness and control - with riding roughshod over others. In fact, it involves getting clear about what you want and communicating this explicitly, simply and directly. This workshop will help you:
- explore what is stopping you being as assertive as you would like to be
- learn the essential building blocks you need to be more assertive
- enrich your life as you stop being afraid to say what you feel and think and start reaching for what you want.
