Support for Grenfell

Help Counselling, based on Portobello Road, can offer free counselling to any adults affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. This includes not only survivors and the bereaved but also any workers supporting the Grenfell community who may be affected by vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue from working with this difficult client group.

We continue to offer this free service to other voluntary organizations that are working with people affected by Grenfell, who recently said:

“Thank you for your offer of support for our Grenfell Team. I am so pleased I took up the offer and I know two of my colleagues are too. I have never had counselling before, but it really is working, and I am so impressed with the whole set up and your wonderful team. Not only has it made a difference to me personally but also at work I now can feel much calmer and concentrate more knowing that my team is getting the support they need.”

If you think this is suitable for some of your team in your organization, please give us a call on 020 7221 9974. Our phonelines are open 9:30am-5:30pm. Please mention Grenfell when you refer to the service. Alternatively, please refer yourself to our service by completing the registration form found here:

We have sessions during the week, morning, afternoon or evening (10-7:30/8:30 on Thursdays). We are also open late morning/early afternoon on a Saturday. Sessions take place at the same time, on the same day, with the same counsellor, each week. Your availability therefore needs to be the same moving forward.
As we are a small charity we rely on contributions towards the cost of your sessions and we operate a sliding scale of £1 per £1,000 of annual income. So, if your salary is £20,000, we would ask you to contribute £20 per session. For the unwaged, we have a minimum contribution of £10 per session. All evening and weekend appointments have a minimum contribution of £20 per session. All missed sessions will also require payment.
